Many of you recall the movie, The Perfect Storm, starring George Clooney, made in the year 2000. It was a story of fishermen trapped in a storm that converged from a series of storms to form one of the most devastating storms in history. In any case, whether true or not in terms of the actual events, at least in the movie, the weather machine broke. Giving them little chance to discern the weather conditions.
As a former qualified navigation supervisor and chart petty officer in the Navy onboard the USS Savannah AOR4, weather conditions determines everything. Normally, storms of this magnitude end up going towards the North Atlantic. I am really not supposed to be sitting here, as a side note. I know, at least on two occasions, of the power of hurricane force storms in the North Atlantic.
On my first major deployment, our ship came down rather awkward and immediately afterwards, we heard a noise unlike anything. Everyone was waiting for what would be next. As an inexperienced sailor at that time, I went about my business, standing watch on the fantail but I really shouldn’t have went about my business. I thought nothing of the event.
After returning to the dry-docks in Brooklyn, it was determined that we had a crack in the keel.
At anytime in that storm, our ship could have cracked in two and sunk to the bottom.
According to Wikipedia, “A “perfect storm” is an expression that describes an event where a rare combination of circumstances will aggravate a situation drastically. The term is also used to describe an actual phenomenon that happens to occur in such a confluence, resulting in an event of unusual magnitude.”
I do not think that anyone wants to overuse a word. However, when the Spirit of God tells us to use a word, who cares?
Major events have converged on the United States and we (the church) have yet to pay attention. The alarm has been sounding for years and all we have done is “token” address issues so no one is offended, or completely ignored them altogether. Then, we go back to business as usual and the people that sit in our churches sit like zombies.
We seldom believe that we offend the Lord when we have respect to the sins of the world. The very thing the Lord Jesus was sent to the earth to die for.
Literally, the church is the walking dead.
Many saints wish that pastors that know the issues would not bring it up.
There is a reason.
Your association with Jesus brought you out and you will have to climb out of your cubby hole called the closet or comfort zone, and be a child of God for a change.
The perfect storm of 9/11, Katrina, and The Economic Collapse, in the last 11 years or so, devastated this nation. There’s no question in my mind that the judgment of God was pronounced upon this nation because of these three major areas.
3. Covetousness or Greed.
All three of these is connected to sexual immorality.
During the economic collapse, the SEC, charged with watching for abuse, the mid to high level watchdogs were watching porn.
There is a difference between consequential judgment and end time judgment.
Consequential judgment is when you have committed sins and the Lord allows whatever judgement is necessary to come upon the nation.
End time judgment is the wrath of God to come.
Two things of note.
Precursor events usually leads to catastrophic events.
During the Clinton administration, we should have known something was about to happen when the President was caught in an embarrassing sex scandal. No need to discuss details.
Well prior to this, two prominent ministers were caught in a sex scandal.
Jim Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart.
In more recent times, more scandals emerged (the late Zachary Tims, Eddie Long), which is an indication that the morals of preachers and political leaders (Jonathan Edwards) is extremely low. Hence, national morality is virtually non existent.
As a result of a lack of morals in the church, the LGBT agenda has overrun this country. Further evidence of this is that the United States is attempting to lead the way with money to get other nations to toe the line with the LGBT agenda.
In many states, the push to suppress righteousness and holiness and declaring righteousness, and holiness as hate language received much support from the legislative process but an almost mute response by the church to overturn hate crime or hate language legislation intended to silence the church.
Civil rights is already a right afforded to ALL Americans.
To isolate and protect one group (LGBT) engaged in homosexual sin while imposing severe restrictions and penalties upon the one place (the church) where morality is expected, is an egregious repression of rights of the highest measure.
What has happened is that the political world has taken advantaged of unfortunate incidences such as when bullying, assaulting, and suicides of practicing homosexuals got media attention, satan then used this as an opportunity to attempt to silence the true church.
Case in point.
Pastor Scott Lively indicated that in the last 50 years, we have seen virtually every nation (except Sweden) take a stand against homosexuality. Now, virtually every nation has hopped in bed with homosexuality. Gay Christian Movement Watch posted a 1 hour 29 minute video of Pastor Scott Lively that summed up what GCMWatch was preaching for quite some time.
YouTube pulled that video because it was considered “hate language.”
The new litmus test is your stand with sinful homosexuals or stand with a remnant of the righteous, or stand righteously alone for God.
The Bible is absolutely and unequivocally, or conclusive about where all persons that profess to know Jesus as Lord, must stand.
I firmly and unapologetically agree with Pastor DL Foster of Witness Freedom Ministries and Gay Christian Movement Watch that it is not enough to state that marriage is between one man and one woman. I firmly and unapologetically agree with Elder Raymond King of Securing Hope Ministry that it is not enough to state that marriage is between one man and one woman.
We must unhesitatingly declare that homosexuality is sin.
As Pastor Scott Lively pointed out (paraphrase), “God showed His displeasure of the abomination of homosexuality by judging Sodom and Gomorrah with fire and brimstone.”
All throughout the Bible, after the judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah, when you see in the Word of God two words, Sodom and or Gomorrah, we know that God is talking about the vilest form of sin known to man.
It is, without question or reasonable doubt, that God is against the sin of homosexuality.
If we fail to strongly condemn the sin of homosexuality, anything less is reprehensible, and we are adding fuel to the fire before we stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
The time for the church to tip toe or two step critical issues is over.
Political correctness doesn’t work where Biblical correctness is demanded by God.
It doesn’t mean that we act angry against the person and use non Biblical terminology against practicing homosexuals. Neither should we engage in or condone criminal acts of assault against any person caught in the sin of homosexuality. It means that we are prepared to stand strong in the gospel to communicate the Word of God in season and out of season.
As a side note. Wouldn’t it had been powerful if when somebody observed Lot and his family being dragged out of the city that they had the sense to ask if they could escape with them too?
Sadly, the love for sin killed them.
Jesus said in Matthew 10:32-33, “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.”
To confess Jesus before men is not just about saying that you believe that Jesus exists. You must show that you believe in the Lord Jesus by doing what the Lord said in His Word. A disciple of Jesus is not just one in word. A disciple of Jesus is one that adheres and does exactly what the Lord Jesus said (see Matthew 7:21-27).
When the moment comes to confess Jesus before men, it is not the time to check the convenience of the moment, or to determine if it will not cost you. If you are protecting sin, it will cost you. If you are avoiding conflict, it will cost you. If you are protecting your job, it will cost you.
Jesus said, in Matthew 10:38-39,
“And he who does not take his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.”
The Amplified says,
“And he who does not take up his cross and follow Me [ cleave steadfastly to Me, conforming wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying also] is not worthy of Me. Whoever finds his [ lower] life will lose it [the higher life], and whoever loses his [lower] life on My account will find it [the higher life].”
James, the Lord’s Brother, the Bishop of the church in Jerusalem said this,
“You believe that there is one God. You do well- Even the demons believe- and tremble!”
You see, what you do after you believe is the determining fact of true belief. Hence, you cannot practice sin, which is lawlessness, and righteousness at the same time.
So, when it comes to knowing the Lord Jesus Christ, you can’t say that you believe in Him and practice sin.
There are many people that never went to boot camp in the military, and never served in any branch of service. Yet, they get uniforms, medals, collar devices, and they don the uniform.
Today, it is against the law to intentionally wear any medals and military collar devices to fraudulently impersonate military personnel. Even for those that did serve, to wear unauthorized medals and collar devices, is reprehensible and dishonorable. Such fraud is looked down upon by those that faithfully and honorably served in the military.
Spiritually speaking, such is the same with homosexuals. Such is the same with adulterers. Such is the same with fornicators. Such is the same with watchers of porn and masturbators. Such is the same with sinners.
That’s why when you declare that you are a gay, adulterer, fornicating, bisexual christian, it is a complete farce. In other words, you cannot practice these sins and call yourself a believer. 1 and 2 Corinthians is all about separation, demarcation, and distinction.
The world must be able to tell the difference the moment you walk through the door.
Paul said, “Shall we continue in sin that grace abound? God forbid!”
Paul, by the Spirit of God said that “unbelievers will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
The works of sinners and the works of children of God are demarcated.
Children of God do not impersonate sinners but we find that sinners love to impersonate the righteous.
In the parable of the wheat and tares (Matthew 13:24-30), we see that the Lord reveals the condition of the field (the earth).
Verse 24 says,
“The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way…”
Notice that “…but while men slept…”
There is no doubt in my mind that the men belonged to the Man that sowed good seed. The men represents the church. Here, Jesus is telling us that the church fell asleep on the job and the enemy came in and planted tares.
The aftermath of the Perfect Storm is that there is wheat and tares in His field. If there is anything that we can learn from this is the fact that tares are only similar after it rises from the ground.
But before they are planted, tares are black seeds.
This is considered hate language according to LGBT.
Sexually immoral people are sinners.
On one particular FB page, many comments were made. Many people honestly believe that what a person does in their bedroom is nobody’s business.
Quite the contrary.
When it comes to Secret Sexual Sins, you must remember that according to the Bible, in particular Psalm 139, God sees it all. We tend to forget that God is Omniscient and Omnipresent.
Genesis 6:5 says, “Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth…”
So the debris field is very simple.
Wheat and Tares. But there is a separation coming.
Finally, the last part of the definition of a perfect storm is striking.
“The term is also used to describe an actual phenomenon that happens to occur in such a confluence, resulting in an event of unusual magnitude.”
It is unusual for the church to be very silent. However, we are seeing other voices stepping up to the plate at great expense. Kirk Cameron and others have made some Biblical statements against the sin of homosexuality. It is unusual for sin to have a place at the table where legislation is easily passed but when it comes to the other issues to benefit the American people, partisanship exists, and there is a reason.
God brings to naught and brings confusion in the ranks of those that insist on sinning against God.
This nation is poised to be brought low to its knees. 9/11 was no fluke. This nation has had grace extended for the sake of God’s remnant. In studying world history, the average stay time of a super power is 200 years. We have enjoyed 36 years of grace.
The storm that no one is paying attention to is already swirling to a size unimagined. One by one, people are walking away from the faith for sin.
It has already happened in the church. It’s called apostasy.
The great falling away in America is under way.
