Dr. Michael Brown issued a stunning article addressed to African American evangelical pastors http://www.charismanews.com/opinion/34548-an-open-letter-to-my-black-evangelical-friends regarding the election. As you have noted, 95% of African Americans, of the 12% African American population voted again for Barack Obama to assume the presidency for a second term.
I am aware that the title is stunning but according to Easton’s Bible Dictionary, the god called Baal is connected to Molech according to Jeremiah 19:5. Molech is the Canaanite god to whom children are sacrificed in the valley of Hinnom, Gehenna or Tophet, passing the children alive through fire. This is out of womb abortion.
Quoting from his dictionary….
“Topheth, from Heb. toph “a drum,” because the cries of children here sacrificed by the priests of Moloch were drowned by the noise of such an instrument;”
Beating the drums loudly is to make the worship of Molech/Baal tolerable.
So when you see the protests for choice, they will not reason with you, they will drown you out by talking over you.
It’s a conclusive reminder of the impotent, almost non existent Black church leadership in the African American community.
When your pastor starts off by saying, “I do not support the president’s position on same sex marriages and abortion but I will vote for him anyway,” it’s an endorsement of the president’s position when you vote for him. The softening of the blow is hypocrisy.
And you know it.
We all know about the president’s support and advocation of same sex marriage, namely the sin of homosexuality and the unequivocal support of abortion on demand. It is clear that African Americans are versed on the issues but will vote Democratic no matter what.
Would you please wake up and smell something?
It’s like a deer in headlights. It’s like knowing that in front of you is a glass of clorox. It looks like water, a little bit. But you can smell that it is not water. But you drink it anyway. It’s like a bus sitting on the edge of a cliff with a sign saying, “Bus To The Bottom Of The Cliff.”
You take a look at the bottom of the cliff and you see several buses with bodies everywhere and you still get on the last bus. Excited about the ride, you get on board. Right on schedule, the bus makes its move right over the cliff.
In the 11th chapter of the book of Romans, you could hear Paul’s anguish for his fellow Jews for rejecting the gospel.
A Barna Group polled that of the 12% African Americans that populate the United States, roughly 6% attend church.
But just because 6% show up to attend church, it doesn’t mean that they are in the church. There is an immense difference. Just by looking at this statistic, it is clear that a large portion of professed church attendees voted for the president twice.
The excuses to vote for the president range from…“He is a black man,” to “We are electing a president, not a pastor.”
I’ve read of one article from a FB link of a church (I will verify it) turning away children to have a pastor that is a convicted pedophile pastor to lead their church. There are many pastors that have sexual issues but folk do not care. I’ve already shared a blog about a married pastor with three kids infecting several women in his church with HIV/AIDS. He was arrested.
Some of you reading this will say that these are isolated incidences. But look at the amount of homosexual and sexually promiscuous music ministers that play in our churches. Look at the bisexual pastors in large and small churches. Look at the sexual serial predators in the pulpit. Look at the hidden lives of pastors and ministers of watching porn and masturbating. Look at the sexual immoral women that snare pastors and church leaders. Look at the Jezebels that show up to destroy local churches and destroy a pastor’s wife.
Look at the sexual immorality among teens in the church. Look at the pregnancies that occur of teenage girls in our churches. How soon we forget that many pastors are asked to dedicate their babies, born out of wedlock. Illegitimate children born because of fornication and adultery. Sadly, many children were aborted, never to see the light of day on this side of heaven.
We have a serious issue that sounds off a very high pitched, ear busting signal that we are out of control, and we are far from walking holy as we should be. Many African American males have went rogue, gravitating to the sin of homosexuality that leaves many African American available single women waiting longer for a mate. A clean mate.
At a home-going service, a pastor eulogized one of his deacons and said that we are not to judge his past.
At the viewing, the deacon’s girl friend showed up. They were fornicating.
We all know that this is common in almost every state. But there is an alarming trend here.
“Who are we really worshipping?”
Elijah was on assignment to deal with the perversion of his day. The nation of Israel was being judged. There was famine resulting from a drought imposed by God for the sins of Israel. Ahab did worse to provoke the Lord and he also married Jezebel. Her father, Ethbaal, was the leader of the Sidonians. Ethbaal came to power by way of assassinating his rival. Ahab looked for a wife outside of Israel and came across the epitome of demon power operating in women. Her name was Jezebel. Her name indicates that she refuses to place herself under male leadership.
Jezebel killed any prophet of God. Obadiah hid 100 prophets of the Lord, 50 in a cave, and gave them bread and water. But Elijah operated in the open. When it was time to confront the prophets of Baal, 450 of them, a question was asked.
“How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him, but if Baal, follow him.”
What does this have to do with this? Just giving you a little backdrop.
Baal has been served for a long time. And the Lord used Elijah in, perhaps, the most powerful display of God’s power since Moses.
On a heavily watered altar, after Elijah prayed, the Lord answered by fire, and all of Israel fell on their faces, in acknowledgement of the Lord God.
The fire of the Lord ended the debate.
Elijah took it a step further and slaughtered all the false prophets of Baal. 450 of them.
It is safe to say that this was a one time incident that we will never see or hear of ever again.
But the debate of our times continues.
There is no debate when it comes to sin. NONE!
But people in the church debate sin because they do not desire freedom from sin. People in the church have made captains and have returned to the house of bondage called Egypt. It takes work to stay away from sin. It is easier to tolerate sin. No opposition from the world and sympathetic carnal Christians will always side in with having a mixture of sin and righteousness (2 Corinthians 6:14-18).
That’s why it is easy for the LGBT agenda to flourish and grow rather well without major opposition. LGBT can count on the African American church leaders to argue among themselves and oppose righteous African American pastors. LGBT can also count on 95% of the African Americans to ensure that their agenda continues to follow in the footsteps of Civil Rights, underwritten by the NAACP.
There are many pastors and people in the church that falter, not just between two opinions, but with so many humanistically driven, Bible-less opinions. So much so that there is no real consensus among African American church attendees and pastors. There are many pastors, who have political aspirations, that are pulled between their pulpits and making a “difference” in the communities on the political level.
The thirst for power to influence spiritually and politically, are sick bedfellows if the only purpose is to purport sin.
But what is really needed is not a single voice on the level of MLK. What is needed is for each pastor returning to the basics of their sanctified calling and assignment from God.
The spectacular orations and TV cameras, and the unwise, ungodly pursuit of “greatness” has clouded a pastor’s ability to just hear from God and speak, and live the Word of God. We are caught up in just the “showmanship” of pulpiteers that we are completely oblivious to what is happening in people’s lives that when sin comes into the house of the Lord, sin is comfortable.
Getting the Holy Ghost goosebumps, and cutting the rug is the preferred norm for African American churches that to talk about living holy is an outdated message.
Do not misunderstand me because there are some places that take seriously the living and preaching of the Holy Word of God. There are some pastors that take no prisoners. There is still some places where the pastor still has an altar call. There is still some places where the heart is sought above everything else, to turn to the Lord. There is still some places where the church is the place where people come to get their sins washed away by the blood of the Lamb. But they must also be taught how to have total victory over sin. They are to be taught how to wash their lives with the water of the Word. They are to be taught by example to walk in the power of God for the dark days that we are living in today.
It is clear that in many churches, Baal is god in the local church. Idol worship, covetousness, sexual immorality, and perversion is normal in the lives of people.
So the conclusion of the matter is simple.
Because if sin is comfortable in your life and in the church, the devil is preaching real good.
