10 Deadly Sins Of Leaders Involved In Secret Sexual Sins; Candid Camera

Smile! You’re on Candid Camera.

You might remember the TV show called Candid Camera where schemes against unsuspecting persons would be captured. Many of us laughed as people would be caught doing things that no one wants recorded. These days, when wives suspect that their husbands are cheating on them, they would send investigators to track them and take pictures to prove their suspicions.

With the man involved in Secret Sexual Sins, it is worse than that.

#2 The Sin of Secrecy.

Three things come to mind when it comes to Secret Sexual Sins.

1. God can’t see me.

2. People can’t know.

3. Since I’m not going to be judged quickly, I might as well engage in sin.

Ezekiel 8:12 says,

“Then He said to me, Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the room of his idols? For they say, The Lord does not see us, the Lord has forsaken the land.”

The pleasures of sexual sins outweigh the risk of being caught but we do not understand or comprehend that these things are recorded in heaven. We will be judged and the evidence is stacked against us.

2 Corinthians 5:10 says,

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.”

This is in regards to the righteous before Christ, the Head of the Church.

When it comes to the wicked, it’s a different story.

For pastors to commit adultery, Matthew 5:27-30 and Hebrews 13:4 is a direct word as well as 1 Corinthians 6:9-11. Adulterers do not stand a chance of entering the kingdom of heaven. Those that practice lawlessness will not enter the kingdom of heaven (see Matthew 7:21-23).

Repentance, confessing your Secret Sexual Sins, and forsaking them is the requirement for obtaining mercy according to Hebrews 4:16, 1 John 1:9, and Proverbs 28:13.

Many people love to and have a right privacy but never in the eyesight of the Lord.

In our modern world, in places around the world where it could be afforded, there is a camera watching almost every move of man. Surveillance is almost everywhere. From traffic cameras to catch people running red lights in the intersection, to satellite imagery, man could be watched.

The fear of being caught on camera heightens ones desire to keep things hush hush.

With the Lord, nothing is hidden from Him. Pull all the covers you want, it just won’t happen with God.

Look at these Scriptures.

“You have set our iniquities before You, our secret sins in the light of Your countenance.”

This is Psalm 90:8.

Psalm 139 (just a few verses) says,

“O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways,”

“Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me.

If I say, Surely the darkness shall fall on me, even the night shall be light about me; indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, but the night shines as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to You. For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb.”

The wonderful thing about the Lord is that nothing catches Him by surprise. The Omniscience of God should be enough to impose the fear of God upon every man, however, such is not the case. We just don’t get it. That we intentionally sin like we think God is not, or was not watching.

We look left, we look right, we look up and down but God is right there watching. You can’t see Him but He can see you.

Notice Hebrews 4:13.

“And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.”

God gave man a free will to make choices however, there is a day where each of us must give an account of the things done in our bodies, whether good or bad, but this doesn’t place fear in the hearts of most people.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.

This is Proverbs 1:7 and 9:10.

Notice Ecclesiastes 8:11.

“Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.”

These three things is what emboldens a man or woman to commit Secret Sexual Sins.

To deceive others, including the Lord (even though we can’t), we must deceive ourselves first.

When it comes to porn, I tried to keep it a secret from my wife. The Lord knew before I was born that I would make a decision to seek out the world of fantasy sex but to expose it to my wife. Not on your life.

Sooner of later it would catch up to me. She caught me. I thought that she was sleep next to me, but she knew that something was up, and she discovered my secret. No one watches porn and not masturbate, or make alternate plans to release sexual tension. Not everyone is a level one or whatever level sexual addict, but there was no question in my mind that I was a sexual addict.

An addiction is when you cannot control or stop it. There really is no such thing as managing an addiction because how could you manage something that has control of you? For that matter, how can you really control it, either? You could manage legal sex with your wife, but the acting out part of sex to release tension by other means than normal sexual intercourse with your spouse is not managing sex.

I said this because when it comes to acting out sexually apart from normal sexual intercourse with your wife, these things are done in secret. That’s why little time is spent on dealing with the core issues of male sexuality. What we do in secret reveals who we really are before the Lord. We can always deceive people, but we can never deceive the Lord.

IF you cannot stop an addiction, it doesn’t really mean that you are a hard core addict. It does mean that if you do not get to the place of discipline on the level of Jesus, you will be controlled by it. You will plan your life around what you’re addicted to.

Porn is the fuel for sexual immorality.

The dangers of the secrecy of porn is that you begin to develop a sense of false security. You believe that you will never get caught but the Lord always have a way to uncover that which you desire to remain a secret. In the back of our minds, we think that we could get away with it, but it is futile, and we know it.

Look at what the Lord Jesus said in John 3:18-21.

“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”

For pastors that commit adultery, the adultery wasn’t what was exposed. The exposure of adultery is the end game. Behind the adultery is the strong possibility of porn and masturbation. I believe that this is the root problem that many pastors do not want to deal with because it’s done in secret.

So the preacher must be exposed if they insist on keep his or her secret.

Look at Luke 12:2.

“For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known.”

It’s an eventuality. It’s an inevitable occurrence. There is nothing that anyone can do about it. It will get out, and when it does, it will either be because God uncovered it or the person in Secret Sexual Sins intentionally laid his sins on the table for all to see.

This is what everyone calls COME CLEAN.

To avoid being caught and exposed, the only way is to come clean about the issue and give no story for the Lord to tell. The sin that David committed was done in secret, but the Lord said that He would place it all out in the sun for everyone to see. This is clearly embarrassing but for leaders, it has to be done.

So to get this sin dealt with, it is time to come to the light.

One way or another.
