WOF “Word Of Faith.” What Is It All About?

This obviously is off my usual subject on sexual immorality in the church, yet, this is a worthy subject that need to be shared.

Over the last few years, I’ve come across some positive and negative discussions regarding WOF, commonly called “Word Of Faith.”

Very few understand where this came from as far as the Word of God is concerned.

Romans 10:8 says, “But what does it say? ‘The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart.” (that is the Word Of Faith which we preach):”  Isolated, it gives the basis for faith in God and His Word. When certain doctrines come along, we must pay attention to its origins. Anyone could make the Bible say anything it wants, until it is brought under contextual scrutiny.

Now within the context that Paul preached, verse 9 and 10 is brought into the picture. “…that if you confess with your mouth The Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

So contextually speaking, word of faith is speaking about faith in Christ for salvation. However, we do see a solid, indisputable principle that is consistent from the Garden to this very day.

Who said what and who will believe it?

Before I begin, there was a very compelling video on YouTube entitled WAR Word of Faith And Reformed Theology with Pastor Saiko Woods and Pastor Fred Price, Jr.

You can view it here http://youtu.be/KXGng28f4MQ

It was not the fireworks, rockets red glare kind of back and forth, although there was plenty of back and forth, but it was a cordial discussion on points of the Bible regarding faith in God and the sovereignty of God. At the onset, it was agreed upon that the originator of the Word Of Faith movement was determined to be E. W. Kenyon (1867-1948).

For those of you that do not know who E. W. Kenyon is, he started the “Positive Confession” Theology that transformed the way people think and believe about God and His Word. He’s written many books on this subject. Such as “Two Kinds Of Knowledge,” The Two Kinds Of Faith,” “New Creation Realities,” and so forth.

Yes, over thirty years ago, I’ve read these books.

I am not ashamed to say that these books helped me to see things in the Word of God that I’ve never seen before. However, as time progressed, many preachers caught wind of this radical way of understanding faith and abused it to death. So much so that many false teachers and preachers began to say things that we all know that is a violation of Biblical Hermeneutics, and basic sense.

Now proper Biblical faith never makes sense. When we got saved, it didn’t make sense.

How could God save a sinner?

It’s called “foolishness of preaching.”

We believed what someone preached. Faith to believe came as the Word is preached (“So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.”), we repented of sin, God forgave us, and the Holy Spirit made us new creatures in Christ by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the HolySpirit, and made us the righteousness of God by Christ Jesus.

In another instance of faith in God that doesn’t make any sense, when God told Abram that he would have a son, God told Abram this when Abram was at the tender age of 75. Abram and Sarai never had children to this point. It would be almost 25 years later that the Word that The Lord told Abram would come to pass.

Does it make sense that an old man would have normal sexual relations with a hot looking old lady and have a child?

If you say it makes sense, you are absolutely wrong in the natural but right in faith.

We all know the story of the children of Israel when they were given a land flowing with milk and honey. The Lord instructed Moses to send 12 men to spy the land. What took 40 days should have been done in 11 days. Ten came back with a bad report, two came back with a good report. It would be because of unbelief that they would not enter the promised land for 40 years. That’s why they were judged for forty years. It took forty days to talk themselves out of what the Lord told them.

Does it make sense for a nation that never seen war for over 400 years, yet, go in and take land from several nations that fight all the time?

In the natural, it doesn’t make sense, but in faith, the way God sees it, it does.

Adam was given a Word from God to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil for in the day that he ate, he would surely die.

Eve didn’t believe that she would die and took a chance that cost us all to this day. In all three instances, it comes down to what was said and who would believe. Now here is the issue. The extremes of the Word of Faith. We begin to hear doctrines of the “god” doctrine. That Jesus used a Scripture and called men “gods.”

This is from Psalm 82:6. “I said, You are gods, And all of you are children of the Most High.”

The Hebrew word, “lohiym” is a derivative of Elohim. In the verse above, it is mentioned in the plural, meaning more than one. In error, it is taught that you are in the same class as God. Here is where this is clearly error.

No man that God created is in the same class as God except that man’s spirit is made of the same substance of God’s Spirit. Remember. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 says, “I pray God that your whole spirit, and soul, and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of The Lord.”

Man was created a tri-part being. God, in the book of Genesis, created man in His image, after His likeness. However, man cannot be in the same class as God. Man in the Garden never possessed three attributes that sets God apart from man.

Omnipotent. Omniscient. Omnipresent.

In character, we can be like God through the new birth. We are restored but not to the place of Adam because we still must die and we still have the choice to sin.  So with even being in Christ, three things will always be missing.

Omnipresent, Omnipotent, Omniscient.

So when you connect positive thinking theology to this “god”manology (made up word), you get error.

The definition of “lohiym” is “magistrate or judge.” Now when you look at verses 3 through 5, the definition of “gods” or magistrates or judges now makes sense.

“Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy; free them from the hand of the wicked. They do not know, nor do they understand; they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are unstable.”

These verse has everything to do with ensuring that justice is done in the land. Sadly, people will sell the Brooklyn Bridge and we will buy it (see Proverbs 14:15).

That is the error but as far as believing God for what He promised, this is what we are permitted to have.

What God promised in His Word. Mark 11:22-25 is the basis for believing God in His Word, however, 1 John 5:14-15 is the qualifier. Now with Hebrews 11:6, “For without faith it is impossible to please Him for he that comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.”

Verse 5 is usually left out because many teachers leave out the fact that Enoch lived a life that pleased God.

The book of Jude underscores the kind of life Enoch lived that pleased God to the point that Enoch was taken up into heaven. Body and all. The hyper-grace teaching that is in the air today, that you could live any way you want to live but grace will cover you is error of the highest order.

Psalm 66:18 is the qualifier.

Grace never gives us permission to sin.

Grace is God doing something for us that we do not deserve to be done.

When it comes to the confession of the Word, could we say something and it comes to pass? I believe that what The Lord promised in His Word, when we say what He promised, God will bring it to pass. We are powerless to bring something to pass with the Words of our mouths. However, when we agree in faith with what God said, God is well able to bring what He said in His Word to pass

But doesn’t Proverbs18:22 tell us that “death and life are in the power of the tongue and they that love it will eat the fruit thereof?”

Only when we speak God’s Word in faith or the devil’s word. The discussion ranged from proving points of Scripture about whether God sovereignly heals or that we speak by faith what God said in His Word to receive healing. In one point of the segment, they’ve discussed the Holy Spirit whether He gave gifts and then we are able to turn on the gifts when we want to.

When it comes to the gifts of the Spirit, we do not have control over the execution of the gifts of the Spirit. We do have the Biblical right to act when the gifts of the Spirit are not in operation.

For instance, the Bible says “They shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.”

Or in another place, “Is any among you sick, let him call for the elders of the church, let them anoint them with oil in the name of The Lord and the prayer of faith shall save the sick and Lord shall raise him up.”

In my ministry, I’ve seen The Lord work in both ways to heal a person, whether it is the gift or gifts of healing/healings, or by the laying on of hands in faith.

However, I’ve seen where people didn’t receive when I would lay hands on people in faith. There are many that believe that because the gifts of the Spirit were not in operation that it was God’s sovereign destiny to die.

That’s far from the truth.

Here’s why.

Does it mean that The Lord doesn’t heal?

Absolutely not.

The reasons are varied as to why a person doesn’t receive healing. But because someone doesn’t receive healing, we dare not accuse the Father or suggest to the Father that He is incapable, or that His sovereign will picks and choose who gets healed, saved, delivered, and who doesn’t.

Anyone, in faith, can receive. But many will say, but what if God doesn’t heal? See that’s doubt. As Brother Hagin once said, you could have faith in your heart and doubt in your head. What matters to The Lord the most?

Faith in your heart.

Here’s another thing that I wanted to share.

There is a difference between doubt and unbelief.

Doubt means there is a possibility that it could happen. They believe that it could happen for others but they doubt that it could happen for them.

Unbelief is when you flat out refuse to believe that God can do it for you and for everyone else. A person could recover from doubt. All they have to do is change their minds.

With unbelief, their minds are already made up. We must always remember that we do not have the complete picture. A failure of healing is never to be assumed as a failure of God. We must remember that on the heaven side, we will not see what really went on.

The woman with the issue of blood is a classic example of faith in the Word of God. If you remember the story, she heard about Jesus. She heard about how people would touch His garment and would be healed. We must always remember that healing and health is an act of God’s grace, appropriated by faith in God’s Word. Healing postpones death.

That’s why I understand as a pastor to see which way a person is going. Do they want to believe God for healing, or allow the process of death to run it’s course. Sometimes a person’s will is involved to the degree that they allow the course of death to take place.

God never overrides the will of man because He made the will of man to be free to choose. You choose to get in the car. You choose from a menu to eat certain things. You choose to sin. You choose to believe. You choose to disbelieve. You choose to walk in righteousness.

As a pastor, The Lord instructed me to be ready to go either way. That is when a person desires to be healed, to minister the laying on of hands and believe God with them. When a person desires to go home to be with The Lord, be ready to prepare their hearts to enter the kingdom.

Is it unbelief?

Is it doubt?

It’s called preparation.

You see, The Lord is about ministering to people where they are and never impose upon them our will. The Lord is about being believed for what He is willing and able to do. The Lord is about His Word and what we do in response to His Word.

As far as the blatant extreme teachings and teachers, we need to learn what the late Brother Hagin, Sr. had said for years. “Learn to eat the chicken and leave the bones.”

Few extreme agitators that speak against the valid points of Scripture regarding believing God in faith wouldn’t dare refer to Hagin’s last book before He went home to be with The Lord called “The Midas Touch.”

I dare you to read it.

Some of you won’t because you’re too afraid to see that correction was at least attempted.

It would sink your boat.

He brought stunning correction to the extreme teachings of the Word of Faith movement and teachers and really, very few paid any mind to it. In the latter end of his ministry, he held “Ministerial Ethics Seminars” for pastors and ministers because he saw the trend of false teachers and prophets engage in heretical teaching, sexual immorality, and money.

Yeah, you never heard of this either, did you?

Dr. Fred Price, several years ago, over twenty years ago talked about Marriage and Sex. He shared about “oral sex” that would put hair on a place on your head where it should remain bald.

Bet you missed that, too.

And Dr. Betty Price shared a book on “”A Warning To Ministers, Their Wives, and Their Mistresses.”

A must read for all pastors and pastor’s wives, and mistresses.

My pastor friend, Pastor Darren Butler of International Good News Fellowship in Hicksville, NY, said something that I will paraphrase.

We should never judge someone by one message but in the totality of their messages.

And I agree.

Now if they continually show a decline in the Word, that’s when you reveal and expose the error.

Like Carlton Pearson, John Swilley, or Dennis A. Meredeth, and others.

Everyone of us preachers have, at one time or another, said something that was deliberately crosswise of the Word of God until revelation comes, or correction comes.

We all want to be correct in our teachings because according to James 3:1, we are held to a stricter judgment.

There is no doubt that controversial things were said by proponents of Word of Faith, but it doesn’t mean that the whole bunch of preachers associated with the correct and balanced teaching of the Bible is also in deliberate error.

Granted, there are many that intentionally overstep boundaries to “push” a “heavy revy” to be famous in the pulpit.

There is no question that we have false prophets and teachers throughout the entire body of Christ, teaching damnable heresies. They should never be given a free pass. Neither should any of us that preach correctly, the Word of His grace, be given a free pass. We know in part and we prophesy in part. We see through a glass darkly, as Paul said. There is no excuse for preaching false doctrine. There is equally no excuse to label everyone a heretic if they didn’t intend to deliberately deceive people.

Therefore, let’s heed the advice.

Eat the chicken, and throw away the bones.

LGBT: Evander Holyfield Knocks Out The Sin Of Homosexuality

While checking some FB posts, Pastor DL Foster of GCMWatch.com shared a post about supporting former heavyweight champion, Evander Holyfield when he made a very timely, power punch statement regarding the sin of homosexuality.

Pastor Foster requested that just as we supported Phil Robertson, patriarch of Duck Commander/Duck Dynasty, when Phil made some serious statements regarding the sin of homosexuality, we should do the same for Evander, or for anyone that speak out against the sin of homosexuality.

Without hesitation or purpose of evasion, we are standing with them.

At the request of Pastor Foster, and on his behalf, I share in sending a Twit to @holyfield in support of his statement. I trust that you would do the same.

One of the most famous boxers of all time, Evander Holyfield made a statement about the sin of homosexuality that attracted attention.

Whether he will get the Phil Robertson, A&E LGBT dominated, Duck Dynasty treatment is left to be seen.

Here is the quote.

“The only thing I’m trying to tell you….You know how handicapped people are born? You can’t say ’cause they were born that way you can’t move that,” he said. Adding, “It’s a choice. Come on, that ain’t the way nobody is made…You ain’t gay unless you sleeping with the opposite sex.”

Very powerful quote.

This is no different than Phil Robertson describing vividly what practicing homosexuals do.

It’s no different.

Yet, the elite LGBT community always have a problem when the truth comes out. You know….the extremely militant division of LGBT that wants to rule the world. Shout everybody down or shut people down legislatively as they hijack Civil Rights. The radical ultra almost terrorist that wouldn’t bother with Muslims but pick on Christians.

Tolerant of sin, intolerant of righteousness. Criminalize God, decriminalize sin, and exonerate the devil.

At the end of the article in the pro homosexuality newspaper, the sins of Evander were conveniently posted.

Yes, he’s fathered 11 children from 3 different women. No question about it.

Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

But verse 24 tells us...”Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 is equally powerful.

That’s the part that LGBT do not want because that means freedom from committing any sin.

Again, just like the Wizard of Oz of the militant LGBT group, people should “Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.”

It is clear that the people behind gay people is making an attempt to distinguish people that practice the sin of homosexuality from the sin of homosexuality. That when you vividly discuss the disgusting sex acts of homosexuals, they take it personal. They will make every effort to make it appear as if you hate people.

Time and time again, we’ve shared that the Lord loves people and that the true believers in Christ love people based on John 3:16. It is the act, the sin acted out by people that is what we hate. The bondage to the sin of homosexuality has not yielded any good but evil. That’s why the Lord called it “an abomination” or disgusting.

Once again, LGBT gets to put pressure on high profile people that speak truth against the sin of homosexuality.

Here is the one way that LGBT can avoid being hit by the truth. Truth hurts but truth heals. Most medicine almost never tastes good but most medicines that never tastes good will heal the body. So it is with the Word of God. The Bible tells us to give attention to the words of an earthly father is “health to all their flesh.” Because it is true in the natural, it is true in the spirit.

When the Word is ministered to man by the Heavenly Father, His Word is health to all our flesh.

Why is it that man doesn’t want to be healed?

Why do man want to remain sick?

Well when it comes to sin, man believes he could fix himself. Throwing billions of dollars into HIV/AIDS is noble, but why are we coaching people to believe that a sin is beautiful when the results are devastating? Would anyone walk into a burning building? Well, it is a known practice that since homosexuals have AIDS, they look on the Internet to hook up with other homosexual men that were already diagnosed because they believe that they have nothing to lose.

As long as you are breathing, you have a chance to be redeemed and justified by the Lord. When you repent of sin and receive His forgiveness, the Lord abundantly pardons. Then the Holy Spirit comes in and makes you a brand new creature in Christ. Like you had never sinned.

This is called “Justification.”

Justification means to be innocent of all charges of sin even though you are guilty.

Why do people want to remain guilty is a big mystery.

Jesus said, “Men loved darkness than light.”

I support what Evander Holyfield said.

We must remember that a very small percentage of people want to make life difficult for those that stand for the truth.

We that are true believers in Christ try to make it easy for people to come to the Lord through repentance from dead works and faith toward God. Yet, as the Lord said, “…for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.”

Active & Passive Hunters: Immoral Men & Women In The House Of Worship

As people praise and worship the Lord, the people are brought into the presence of God. But a lady walks in from the back, dressed in a hot dark blue, fitting dress. Most eyes are on the Lord but a few men can’t help but notice her.

As a pastor preaches his message, a young married lady wears something inappropriate. Every now and then, the pastor can’t help but notice her cleavage.

After service, a pastor tracks down a woman to make arrangements to meet.

Not for counseling……but for sex.

Has the church become a place where the dress of a harlot is acceptable? Has the house of worship become a den of sexual immorality when men actively hunt for women for sex?

It takes two to tango.

Sexual wear of women is done for one purpose.

To attract male attention.

With homosexuality heavily in holy and unholy the houses of worship, it’s not surprising to see women attract other women, or males attracting other males, or both.

Even when male pastors exhibit oratorical power in the pulpit, it is used as attraction.

Preach well, and you will have all eyes on you.

Powerful words to move people into an emotional frenzy is enough to lure unsuspecting emotional women into the bedroom.

But when a woman comes to church looking like they are going to the club, you know that something is going on. To be noticed is her goal.

Especially if the target is the pastor.

Notice what Proverbs 7:6-11 says….

“For at the window of my house
I looked through my lattice,
And saw among the simple,

I perceived among the youths,
A young man devoid of understanding,
Passing along the street near her corner;

And he took the path to her house
In the twilight, in the evening,
In the black and dark night.

And there a woman met him,
With the attire of a harlot, and a crafty heart.
She was loud and rebellious,
Her feet would not stay at home.”

Notice that the youthful man that is “devoid of understanding,” “took the path to her house.”

Just imaging a young man or a middle aged single or married man is smitten in their heart when a woman comes to church dressed like a harlot. Instead of keeping their minds on the Lord, they sneak a peek to check her out.

Somehow they find a way to “hook up.”

Now everyone will say that the woman shouldn’t be blamed, it’s the man’s fault for lusting after her to begin with.

First, blame is to be applied on both sides.

When a woman intend to dress a certain way that really is not holy, it tips the scale against a man.

Proverbs 27:20 says…..Hell and destruction are never full, so the eyes of a man are never satisfied.”

A man must control his heart, mind, eyes, and hands.

At the same time, a woman must control the way she dresses. If what she is wearing is too “dangerous” it must be placed in the closet or exchanged for something more modest. If it is “dangerous” at all, it must not be worn.

The fashion styles of today may not reflect modesty, but ask the Lord if He likes what you are wearing to His house of worship.

In many of our cities, there are spots that are havens for prostitutes. On the magazine stands are scantily clad women. If a man is not careful, these things easily fills the mind of a man to pursue “strange flesh.”

The counter balance of the purpose of these immoral women pasted on magazines is to teach women what is attractive to a man and she will dress appropriately.

After the service is over, a man that lacks understanding will take a path to her house.

Notice the time that this takes place.

“In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night.”

This is indicative of the male’s evil heart.

So there are two things that can happen in the house of worship.

The heart of a harlot and their dress, and the lust in the heart of a man that will pursue strange flesh.

The Lord Jesus said in Matthew 15:18-20a….“But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man.

For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. These are the things which defile a man….”

So the heart of the man is the seat of lust in his heart. Before he touches a woman, he is already defiled in his heart because of the evil thoughts of adultery and fornication.

In Matthew 5:27-30, Jesus said…..“You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery. ’But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

And then the Lord gives the remedy called “radical removal.”

If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.

And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.”

Hebrews 12:4 says…..”You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin.”

In other words, you did not get to the place of shedding your own blood to stop yourself from sinning.

Now do not go and pull your eye out or get a knife and cut off your hand.

What are you willing to do to cut yourself off from the things that you see everyday that triggers the lusts in your flesh?

Are you willing to close your Directv subscription to avoid the Playboy, Hustler, and other Adult Channels? Are you willing to give your wife the passcode to your laptop, inspect your cell phone, have a friend that you confide with ask you tough questions that demand truthful and honest answers?

Are you willing to ask your wife to stay with you or come with you will you go overseas or around the country to preach? Are you willing to have the TV removed from the hotel room to avoid the Adult Channels?

There are triggers that enliven lust in the heart of a man.

What a man sets before his eyes is the tale of the tape.

Psalm 101:3 says….“I will set nothing wicked before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not cling to me. A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will not know wickedness.”

The Lord Jesus said in Matthew 6:22-23….“The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light.

But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!”

What a man watches determines whether he has light or darkness in him. What we set before us reveals the light or darkness in our hearts. When an immoral woman passively hunts, her dark heart is already revealed.

The eyes is connected to the heart. So when a man with lustful intent look at a woman, the mind goes into a ritual stage. The mind begins to plan out how to acquire strange flesh.

Paul said in Romans 13:12-14….“The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.

Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.”

The ritual to fulfill illicit sexual pleasure is man and woman making “provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.”

The passive hunting for a man is part of the process.

This is the perversion of the natural laws of attraction that bring single males and single females together according to God’s design so that they would do the right thing. Get married and enjoy each other’s lives legally.

James 1:14-15 says…..“But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full- grown, brings forth death.”

One of the keys to understanding the crafty heart of an immoral woman is that they are loud and rebellious. They cannot be told anything. They talk over you to overpower you. The combination of her wardrobe and loud mouth can persuade a weak hearted lust filled man.

She controls everything.

It’s the strong hearted man that resists her every move.

What must be done to stop the madness in the house of worship?

We must preach and live holy. We must identify the sexually immoral woman when they come through the door. Not to turn them away, unless they fail to listen, but to minister to them where they are hurting.

Brothers need to turn to the Lord. If they are married, if they are having situations in the home, help them to deal with it and restore their relationship before they entertain crossing lines that they said they wouldn’t cross.

There is a high price for Secret Sexual Sins.

The judgment of the Lord. Both consequential judgment on earth, and eternal judgment.

Together, we can stop the madness of prostitution and harlotry in the house of worship.

The Surprise of 2014

As you all know, the beginning of the year always begin with resolutions.

We get to the spring season and we say, “What resolution?”

The 2014 surprise?

Oh. That’s right.

Many will resolve to lose weight but how many of you are ready to lose sin?

Losing weight is probably at the top of most people’s list, but never do we hear about laying aside every weight and the sin that easily besets us.

Rarely do we hear about a resolution to be holy, righteous, sanctified, consecrated, dedicated, and on fire for God.

It seems like we look to do everything else but be more for God than last year.

Just like natural resolutions fizzle away into procrastination, postponement, or completely annulled, spiritual resolutions take a back seat as well. Perhaps, much worse, but don’t beat yourself up about it. As long as we are alive, we have a chance to rebound and forge ahead into new territory, so be encouraged.

As time progress, satan has found a way to devise schemes, methods, and strategies to lure us back into the bad habits of sexual sins that most of us climbed out of by God’s power and grace. We soon forget the tender mercies of the Lord relating to our bondage to Secret and Overt Sexual Sins.

However, there are those that remember how God delivered us and set us free.

This year.

Especially for you brothers.

Some of you are going to surprise God.

Some of you will walk away from SSA, same sex attraction, becoming ex-gays and ex-homosexuals.

Some of you will surprise God and walk away from adulterous relationships.

Some of you will turn from fornication.

Some of you will stop your bisexual ways.

Some of you will turn from porn and masturbation.

Some of you will say with your mouth in sincerity of heart that enough is enough and become a 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 person.

Some pastors, bishops, and preachers will stop being the hypocrite. Music ministers, praise and worship singers will walk out of gay affirming churches to be affirmed and loved by God.

Some will turn from perversion and walk in righteousness and true holiness.

When the Lord Jesus was approached by the centurion, something unusual happened. The centurion had a servant that was sick. This centurion so depended upon his servant that he couldn’t do without him.

The centurion sought Jesus out.

When he found Jesus, he stated a fact of faith. “Just speak the Word and my servant will be healed.”

The centurion understood the power of words and the power behind the Words of Jesus.

There is a difference.

Humans have limited power behind our words but the Lord has absolute power behind His Words. Our words attract power and on a limited basis, releases power. Remember, we have delegated power (see Matthew 28:18-19a).

If the centurion had absolute power behind his word like the Lord Jesus, he would have commanded his servant to be healed himself, but He went to the only One that had power behind His Word.

The Bible tells us that Jesus was marveled. The word “marveled” means “to wonder or admire.”

The Lord Jesus admired the centurion’s faith and said….“I have not found so great faith, no, not even in Israel.”

The Lord is always seeking for faith in the earth, however, when it came to the children of Israel, there was none to be found.

Reliance, belief, trust, complete confidence.

When it comes to walking away forever from Secret Sexual Sins, you must rely, believe, trust, and have complete confidence in the keeping power of God. The key to this measure of great faith is unquestioned obedience to the Word of God. Remember, the centurion understood how faith worked.

The centurion understood that Jesus had absolute authority from the Father to act against the disease and He was anointed with Absolute Power to enforce His authority to act.

Just like a police office is sworn in to uphold the law and carries his or her authority from the county, state, or federal government to act, and when necessary, he or she possess natural power to enforce the law.

The centurion knew how Jesus operated when he heard or observed His ministry. That when the Lord speaks a Word, it must happen. Then behind the Word is the Holy Spirit who takes that Word and makes it good.

You see, it’s about how serious you are with your words that determines whether or not you want it to happen.

Many of us have said that we would never watch porn anymore.

That we would never masturbate anymore.

Millions of brothers and sisters.

Some of us have kept that promise, only to be overwhelmed with substitute porn.

Magazine stands, Internet icons of women in sexy swimsuits, the news on TV with club wearing clothing that weather women or women anchors wear, church women wearing the clothing of harlots, clothing fit for the red carpet. Tight, high thigh showing, low cleavage church women wear these club dresses, not for fashion, but to passively hunt for lust filled men.

Matthew 5:27-30 is still in effect. Just because you gave up porn, our eyes and minds still need to be guarded.

Many of us have said that we would not lustfully watch men and women, or both, whether it be TV, movies, Internet or out in the street. We’ve resolved not to do it again. All of a sudden, we find ourselves slipping.

What can we do to really attack these areas?

We must do what Job did, in Job 31:1. Make a “covenant with our eyes.”

We must “Renew our minds, and ‘…be renewed in the spirit of our minds.”

We must “Cast down imaginations (reasonings) and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God and bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”

We must be “sober…vigilant…and resist him (the devil) steadfast in the faith.”

We must “…humble ourselves and pray, and seek His face, and turn from our wicked ways.”

Song of Solomon 2:15 says….

“Catch us the foxes, the little foxes that spoil the vines, for our vines have tender grapes.”

If we would surprise the Lord and catch the little foxes….

It’s always in the small ways that big things manifest.

The principle works for the good of the Word as well as the bad for the devil.

Jesus said in Mark 4:26-29….

“And He said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how.

For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.”

Paul said in Galatians 6:7-8….

“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”

If we would surprise the Lord and catch the demonic seed before it is planted in our hearts, we can save ourselves this year, and the year after, and forever more.

Proverbs 4:23 says……

“Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.”

This is the year where you will catch the little foxes that spoil the vine, for your vines have tender grapes. This is the year where you will keep your heart with all diligence, for out of your heart springs the issues or flowing(s) of life.

The surprise is not looking for God to do something because He did His part by sending the Lord Jesus to die for our sins so that we could be free from the power and guilt of sin.

The surprise is for God.

Let’s surpass and exceed His expectations.

He is waiting to be surprised.

Let’s surprise Him that we choose to do the Word and overcoming every single time.
