When George W. Bush won the 2004 election, the Christian Conservative vote took him into his second term over Senator John Kerry. Carl Rove made sure that the conservative base in Ohio carried the vote.
It is documented that the conservative vote was present and accounted for.
This time, the conservative Christian vote was noticeably absent.
Never before have we seen a Mormon cater to evangelicals. And Romney did make an attempt. But it failed and everyone knows it. They’ve tried to get Governor Huckabee and Reverend Billy Graham to back and support Romney.
And that failed, miserably.
Sadly, there were many evangelicals and Christian conservatives that suppressed the basic Bible belief of true Christians to vote for Governor Romney. It is also clear that most Christians intentionally and deliberately disregarded the facts behind President Obama and voted for the re-election of a president that advocates the sins of abortion and homosexuality.
It is true that many people are upset that the president was re-elected and Romney was soundly rejected. But this rejection isn’t as obvious because the popular vote still shows a split down the middle of America. On the Democratic side, we know that there are many people that profess their belief in Christ but they’ve pushed aside the Word of God.
They will not admit a compromise took place but there is no doubt about it. They’ve clearly compromised the Word of God in their hearts and joined themselves to the sins of this nation. I am speaking of those that deliberately and intentionally knew the facts about each of their candidates and voted for either candidate.
The outcome of the election came about…..
partly because some of the professed believers are not living holy and separated lives unto the Lord. They resist the counsel of God’s Word, and they live like the world in thinking and deeds. They can quickly tell you their favorite shows but when it comes to basics of Christianity and the Bible, it is found lacking in fervency and intense fire.
Partly because some of the professed believers are living godly lives and they were led to believe that patriotic duty must transcend solid Christian beliefs. Or that Christian beliefs are to directly influence American politics. These people that voted for Romney have good hearts, and they mean well because they want to see the country move back into a conservative course.
Kevin, my brother in the Lord and friend from Connecticut said this….
“You are right about the choices we faced. It was like satan (obama) versus satan lite (Romney). It sickened me that so many Christians caved into Romney. There was no need to be SO enthusiastic about him. I had no problem with a Christian voting Romney (I did) —- but I could not be RAH RAH STRIKE UP THE BAND FOR HIM.”
It does take courage to make a stand these days and I think this election exposed a deep rift that is split right down the middle about America but there is that one thing that sticks out like a sore thumb.
The “No” vote.
Let’s just say that the Christians that deliberately and intentionally purposed not to vote because the Biblical standard brought about a conviction that should we stand before the Master, we would have to render an account. The no vote of Christians truly affected this outcome.
This is no time to exalt or smile that the “no votes” didn’t vote. It should be a humble reminder to us all that the devil is very crafty and will take anything he can get to turn it to his evil advantage. The choice not to vote doesn’t sit well with many. The choice to be vocal about not voting for the president didn’t sit well with African Americans.
If you were African American and Democratic, you were expected to vote for the president. Many African Americans hated the fact that independent thinking African Americans wouldn’t cave in to the pressure from supportive Democratic African Americans.
However, let me be clear.
I am a child of God before I am an African American. The Lordship of Jesus takes precedence over patriotism, denominationalism, and political party affiliation.
Many African Americans are not patriotic but when it comes to seeing a Black man assume the presidency, it is expected that the political support be there no matter what the president believes, disbelieves, or what wicked agenda he supports. It’s because we all know that in this rare moment in history, a Black man was able to ascend to become the most powerful man in the world.
Once again, my friend Kevin, from Connecticut shared these words……
“Thank you pastor Fred! It’s so nice to see an American who is black — not give into the Obama worship.”
And this statement is something that hits the ball out of the park. We must worship Jesus, not man.
From a political sense, voting for this Black man doesn’t make sense because in all actuality, the odds were clearly stacked against him, but he won against Hillary Clinton, and twice against powerful Republican candidates. John McCain, a decorated POW hero, and Mitt Romney.
These stunning victories is huge.
But I couldn’t get past what the president stood for and no “faith” statements would be enough to compel me to take a chance and suppress the Word of God and vote for a candidate that wholeheartedly and unapologetically supports the heinous, and disgusting sins of homosexuality and abortion.
The interesting thing that you will hear from African Americans that support the president is that when it comes to presenting the facts, many of them do not care. Many will say that they did not vote because of skin. Many of them will say that because they do not want to tell the truth.
Let’s face it. He is Black.
Let’s face it, it is normal to look at a person of color and gravitate towards that person.
Even when the facts are laid on the table, there is no question about what will take place.
But here is another thing of interest.
Whites are still the majority in the United States. But they didn’t vote a Black man out.
To be honest, we all know that the race for the White House was not about one White man against one Black man. It was about the economy but noticeably and notoriously missing was the two major issues of our times.
Abortion and The Sin of homosexuality.
Both candidates elected to make statements in the media and kept clear of this well traveled minefield.
But it really didn’t matter.
The icing on the cake is the fact that some Christians bypassed this critical aspect that Romney is a Mormon.
For good measure, Kevin, shared these powerful words…
“Mormonism is a cult. Mormonism plagued my family for 40 years. My grandparents were mormons (dad’s side). My dad was a mormon for a brief time. Grandparents left, but my aunt is still a mormon (35 years running) I was sickened when Bill Graham’s evangelistic association removed Mormonism as a cult from their website — 3 weeks before the election!! How many millions were given to Samaritan’s Purse because of that?”
This is a game changer that to suppress the basic belief of Christ to vote in a Mormon to somehow, steer America back to conservative Christian values is beyond reasonable comprehension.
Hence the reason for the no vote.
What happened was the “no vote” chose not to side in with either candidate because of the president’s and Romney’s support of the sin of homosexuality, and the president’s support for the sin of abortion to cover for the sin of adultery and fornication.
The media made it seem like the issue is about the economy but underlying, the issues turned out to be about sin. Three states joined the band wagon of same sex marriage, and Washington State and Colorado decriminalized marijuana use for medical purposes, in addition to Californication imposing the use of condoms on porn sets to protect porn stars from acquiring STDs including HIV/AIDS.
Paul told Timothy… “nor share in other people’s sins, keep yourself pure.”
That’s what the conservative Christians did. They, like myself, refused to join in and share in other people’s sin, to keep ourselves pure.
Love for God transcends love for country. We seek a better country wherein righteousness dwells.
The direction of this country is at stake but like I said, are we found fighting against the inevitable course of the last days? I do not believe that we should give up on America. However, I do believe that as time progresses, the spiritual climate will continue to deteriorate. Defections from the Lord will increase, apostates and apostasy will increase, and persecution will exponentially rise.
As Jesus said….“The love of many will grow cold.”
Notice that He didn’t distinguish between the righteous and the wicked. For there are many that profess Christ whose love for the brethren is cold, and getting colder.
So if you were one who is second guessing your “no vote,” just remember that the world is on a collision course towards the culmination of all things. Just know that the Lord is not surprised about the outcome, and do not let the world, and well intentioned professed believers discourage you. You were led not to vote. Just look at what may have happened. The Lord is not blind to what happened. This is not a lesser than the two evils situation. It is evil. All evil.
Go back to Jeremiah 17:5-10 and rest confident in the faithfulness of the Lord. Trust also in Him and He will bring His will to pass.
